UPDATE – Woman Charged in Two Bank Robberies
On Tuesday, July 28, Fairfax County police charged Cynthia Marie Crawford with two counts of robbery. Crawford, 46, of the 7700 block of Grandwind Drive in Lorton, was arrested by Prince William County police last week. Fairfax County detectives determined Crawford was reportedly responsible for two bank robberies in Fairfax County.
The first bank robbery occurred on Thursday, June 25 at the Wachovia Bank, located at 8994 Lorton Station Boulevard. http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/police/news-releases/2009/062609bankrobb.htm
The second bank robbery occurred at the SunTrust Bank, located at 9400 Richmond Highway on Wednesday, July 15. Crawford is currently being held in the Prince William County jail.

Police Investigate Bank Robbery
Franconia Police District - A Suntrust Bank employee was robbed on Wednesday, July 15. Around 2:25 p.m. a woman entered the bank, located at 9400 Richmond Highway, and approached a 20-year-old woman at the counter. The suspect passed a note that implied a weapon and demanded money. The victim complied; the suspect left through the front door and fled in an older-model, tan-colored sedan.
The suspect was described as black, in her 40s. She was wearing a purple shirt, blue jeans and a purple hat.
