Pedestrian Fatality in Springfield Area

            West Springfield Police District - A 92-year-old man died Sunday shortly after 3 a.m., August 16 at Inova Fairfax Hospital, after being struck by a car on Saturday, August 15 around 3:40 p.m. Howard Simons of 6128 Lee Brooke Place was walking across Center Road near Glen Oaks Court when he was struck by a 1996 Toyota Camry.

            The driver remained on scene and has not been charged. There were no indications of speed or alcohol as contributing factors to the crash. The investigation is continuing.
