Arrest Made in Abduction/Carjacking
Franconia/West Springfield Police Districts - A 46-year-old, Alexandria woman was abducted during an armed carjacking that occurred on Tuesday, September 1 shortly before 7 p.m. A man allegedly forced the victim into her own 2010 Chevrolet Camaro at gunpoint, at the Franconia-Springfield Metro Station. The suspect drove the victim to the Lorton area and released her unharmed. She ran to a home and called 911. A description of the vehicle was provided and responding officers spotted the car. A very brief pursuit ended when the suspect crashed near the intersection of Hooes Road and Furnace Road in Lorton. He then fled on foot.
A lookout was broadcast for the suspect as patrol officers quickly established a perimeter. K-9 teams, a bloodhound, a Fairfax County Police helicopter along with a helicopter from the United States Park Police responded. An extensive search was conducted and the suspect was apprehended shortly before midnight by a K-9 officer near the intersection of Hooes Road and Ox Road.
Diallo Outing, 22, of Oxon Hill, Maryland was arrested and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. He was charged with armed carjacking, abduction by force, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
