Toddler Drowns in Ornamental Pond

              West Springfield Police District – A 14-month-old boy died Sunday, September 14 around 4 p.m. after falling into an ornamental pond in the yard of 8720 Parliament Drive, Springfield.  Police identified the toddler as Jack Luong. The boy lived at the Parliament Drive address with his parents and several siblings.

            The boy was transported Inova Fairfax Hospital where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy performed by the Medical Examiners Office on Monday, September 14, preliminarily determined the cause of death to be drowning. Police continue to investigate the incident.
