Elderly Man Robbed and Beaten; Suspect Arrested

Mount Vernon Police District – A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a robbery of an 84-year-old man. The robbery occurred on Wednesday, September 16 around 10:30 a.m., in the parking lot of the Shopper’s Food Warehouse, located at 7660 Richmond Highway. The victim had just finished putting his groceries in the car and was sitting in the driver’s seat when a man entered the rear door of his car. The suspect grabbed the victim around the neck and demanded money. The victim bit the suspect. The suspect punched the victim several times in the face then fled. The victim was not treated for his injuries.

Later that night the suspect turned himself into police. Isaac Gray, of 7205 Harrison Lane #103 in Alexandria, was arrested and charged with malicious wounding and robbery. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
