Arrests Made in Weapons Discharge Case
Mason Police District – A 40-year-old mailman was walking in the 6000 block of Bellview Drive on Wednesday, September 16. Around 1:00 p.m. the mailman had several shots fired at him from a nearby building. He was able to take cover and summon police. The victim was not injured.
Several police units responded to include a K-9 officer and the helicopter. After establishing a perimeter around the area, police located two suspects inside the apartment where the shots were allegedly fired from. A BB gun was also recovered.
Arrested
was Horace Jones, 18, of 6027 Bellview Drive, and Shawn Jones, 18, of
9800 Hummingbird Lane, in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Both suspects were
charged with attempted malicious wounding.
Since
a Postal Service letter carrier was the victim, the United States Postal
Inspection Service assisted in the investigation.
