DWI Directed Patrol Results in McLean Police District

Fairfax County police officers from around the county conducted DWI directed patrols throughout the McLean District, to deter and apprehend intoxicated drivers on Friday, August 21 from 2 p.m. until 4 a.m. Saturday. Motorists stopped for suspicion of driving while intoxicated were checked to assure that their abilities to drive had not been impaired by alcohol or drugs. Approximately 43 motorists were stopped. There were no DWI arrests. Twenty-two summonses and 41 warnings were issued for miscellaneous traffic offenses.

Seven officers and one auxiliary police officer participated in the operation.
