UPDATE – Victim Arrested for False Report
Franconia Police District – Detectives have determined that Anthony Chedid, of 6427 Franconia Court in Springfield, made a false police report on September 29 when he alleged he was robbed and stabbed. The investigation revealed his injuries were self-inflicted. Chedid was arrested on Thursday, October 1 and taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with filing a false police report.

Man Stabbed in Springfield Area
Franconia Police District – A 21-year-old man was stabbed on Tuesday, September 29 around 9:20 p.m. He was inside the mall at 6660 Springfield Mall when he was approached by two men. The suspects demanded the victim’s wallet; he complied. One of the suspects stabbed the victim in the upper body with a knife and then fled. The victim was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The armed suspect was described as black, in his 20s. He was about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighed 140 pounds. The second suspect was white, also in his 20s and weighing around 140 pounds. He had short, brown hair. Both suspects wore all black clothing.
