Update: Body in Vehicle Fire Identified

            Mason Police District – Police have released the identity of the body found in this case as 44 year-old Verena T. Stutts of 7115 Wayne Road in Annandale. The case remains under investigation, however detectives do not suspect foul play in this case.

            The Fairfax County Fire Marshal’s office is continuing to investigate the exact cause of the fire.

Police Investigate Suspicious Death

            Mason Police District – Fairfax County Police are seeking witnesses to an incident that occurred on Saturday, November 21. Around 8:10 p.m., the fire department responded to a report of an apparent brush fire in the 8200 block of Willow Oaks Corporate Drive. They arrived and discovered a vehicle engulfed in flames. When they put out the fire, they found the body of a deceased person inside.

            Fire Marshals along with police Homicide and Crime Scene detectives responded to investigate. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death.
