Mount Vernon Police District – Police are asking the public’s assistance in locating Coral “Cora” Pope. On December 14, around 6:00 a.m., Pope, 63, boarded a passenger bus in Newark, New Jersey, bound for Washington D.C.. The bus had intermediate stops in New York City and New Carlton, MD. Family members waited for Pope to arrive at the bus station in Washington D.C. but she never arrived. When they attempted to call her cell phone, she answered and indicated she saw a sign that read “Penn Station.” Further calls to Pope’s phone have gone unanswered.
Pope is in the early stages of dementia and may appear to be confused or disoriented. She also requires medications. She is black, about 5 feet 2 inches tall, around 125 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She is wearing a long black, leather jacket, beige scarf, and white sneakers. She also carries a small, leather purse and has a red and black overnight bag.
