Two Die in Fairfax Crash
Fair Oaks Police District – Police are investigating a fatal crash in which two women died on Monday, December 28 just before 2:30 a.m. The victims were identified as sisters, Victoria Stefan, 25, and Elizabeth Stefan, 22, of 5485 Ashleigh Road in Fairfax. They were traveling in a 2003 Jaguar, southbound on West Ox Road near the intersection of Lee Highway when Victoria (the driver) attempted to turn right onto the ramp to Route 29. The driver continued through the intersection and struck a jersey barrier head-on. Both women died on impact. Investigators have not determined the final cause of the crash, but police believe that the victims had their seat belts fastened and that speed may have been a partial factor.
Crash Reconstruction Detectives responded to the scene and are continuing to investigate the incident.
