Police Investigate Death in Culmore
Mason Police District – Police responded to an apartment in the 6000 block of Argyle Drive on Thursday, December 31 around 5 p.m. for a report of a stabbing. Officers located the body of a 21-year-old female with apparent stab wounds. A male suspect, 29, was also located in the apartment and transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital with non life-threatening stab wounds. Investigators believe the man’s wounds were self-inflicted.
Police believe that the incident was domestic in nature and that the stabbing took place following an argument between the suspect and victim. Crime scene and homicide detectives are continuing to investigate. The Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the exact cause and manner of death. The victim's name will be released following notification of the next of kin.
