 Crime Solvers Seeks Arson Suspect

            Fairfax County Crime Solvers and the Fire Marshal’s Office are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the person(s) responsible for a series of vehicle fires that occurred during July and August 2009. Five vehicles were intentionally set on fire in or near the Fields of Westover apartment complex in the Seven Corners area.

  • Tuesday, July 21, 2009 around 1:35 a.m. a 2001 Kia Rio was set on fire. The car was parked in the 2900 block of Peyton Randolph Drive.
  • Tuesday, July 21, 2009 around 7:10 p.m. a 1988 Toyota Camry was set on fire. The car was parked in the 6200 block of Wilson Boulevard.
  • Friday, July 24, 2009 around 11:15 p.m. a 2004 Toyota 4Runner was set on fire. The car was parked in the 6200 block of Wilson Boulevard.
  • Saturday, August 8, 2009 around 11:51 p.m. a 2005 Toyota RAV4 was set on fire. The car was parked in the 2900 block of Peyton Randolph Road.
  • Saturday, August 29, 2009 around 10:36 p.m. a Toyota Matrix was set on fire. The car was parked in the 2900 block of Peyton Randolph Road.

In all but one incident, the fires were started on the vehicles’ rear exterior. Anyone with information on these vehicle fires or the suspect(s) is asked to contact Fairfax County Crime Solvers by phone at 1-866-411-TIPS(8477), e-mail at www.fairfaxcrimesolvers.org or text “TIP187” plus your message to CRIMES(274637). A $100 to $1,000 cash reward will be paid for information that leads to an arrest. As always, callers never have to give their names or appear in court.
