Joint Effort Nets Unsafe Trucks

 

            Mount Vernon Police District - In response to heavy truck traffic in the Fort Belvoir area, a comprehensive motor carrier safety effort was held on Tuesday, March 16. Out of the 25 trucks checked, 7 were placed out of service for serious safety infractions. Fairfax County Police Department motor carrier officers were joined by the Fort Belvoir Police Department traffic safety unit, Fort Belvoir Military Police and the Virginia State Police. The inspections took place on Fort Belvoir, near Route 1.

            Officers found 66 safety violations.  

            Random motor carrier safety inspections will continue to be a priority for the Fairfax County Police Department in an effort to keep area roadways and motorists safe.
