Bank Robbery in Beacon Hill Area

Mount Vernon Police District – On Friday, March 19 around 9:15 a.m., a 31-year-old bank teller was robbed at the Chevy Chase bank located at 6790 Richmond Highway. A man entered the bank, implied he had a weapon and demanded money. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured.

An off-duty Fairfax County police captain witnessed the suspect enter the bank and called authorities. The suspect exited the bank and after a short foot pursuit, responding patrol officers were able to apprehend him.

The investigation is ongoing and the identity of the suspect will be released when it is available.
