Home Invasion Robbery in the Burke Area

West Springfield Police District – Police are investigating a home invasion robbery that occurred on Sunday, March 28. Officers were called to a home in the 5400 block of Long Boat Court at 9:07 p.m. They located the two victims at a neighbor’s home nearby.

An investigation determined the two victims, a 21-year-old man and 21-year-old woman, were in bed watching a movie when they heard a knock at the bedroom door. The man opened the door and was confronted by two suspects. One suspect brandished a handgun as they forced their way into the bedroom. The suspects bound the victims with duct tape and took property from the room. Both suspects fled in an unknown direction. The victims were able to free themselves and go for help. They were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The suspects were both described as black, in their 20s. They were both wearing black sweatshirts, blue jeans, black caps and bandannas. It appears the suspects entered the home through an unsecured front door.
