Update: Arrest in February Homicide

West Springfield Police District – On March 30, police arrested Caralee Cottle, 31 of 9329 Signal Station Drive, Manassas, and charged her with murder. Police believe the victim and suspect were acquaintances.

Update: Victim Identified in Shooting

West Springfield Police District – The victim of Monday’s fatal shooting has been identified as Nathan Smiler of 8317 Little River Turnpike. The case remains under investigation.

Shooting Investigation in Annandale

West Springfield Police District – Police are investigating the death of a 37-year-old man. On Monday, February 15, officers were called to a residence in the 8300 block of Little River Turnpike around 10:30 p.m. for a report of a shot person. They located the body of man with head trauma from a gunshot. All individuals inside the residence at the time have been identified and there is no threat to public safety.

Homicide detectives are still investigating. No charges have been placed at this time.
