Police Seek Witnesses to Road Rage Incident
Franconia Police District – A man was charged with malicious wounding after he allegedly cut another man with a knife during a roadside altercation on Tuesday, April 6. Around 4 p.m. that day, the two men were driving on South Van Dorn Street near Interstate 495. The victim was driving his gold Ford Expedition and came up behind a silver Cadillac CTS. The two drivers became involved in a traffic dispute after one driver perceived he was cut off by the other car. The two pulled to the side of the road on the I-495 ramp.
Both men, 54 years old, exited their vehicles and the driver of the Cadillac reportedly produced a knife and cut the victim twice on the arm. The victim fled the scene and drove himself to a nearby hospital.
He was treated for non life-threatening injuries. The suspect, Keith Lewis, 54, of 180 South Van Dorn Street in Alexandria, stayed on scene until police arrived and arrested him. He was charged with malicious wounding and taken to jail.
