Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Robbery Suspects
Franconia Police District – A traffic stop led to the arrest of three 18-year-old men and a 16-year-old boy who had just committed a robbery on Saturday, May 8. Around 2:36 a.m., an officer attempted to stop a vehicle on traffic charges near the intersection of Richmond Highway and Lorton Road. Before pulling over, the occupants allegedly threw a large bundle out the window. An investigation determined a weapon and other contraband had been discarded from the vehicle. Further investigation determined these suspects were involved in a robbery.
Several minutes prior to the traffic stop, a 17-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man were standing outside of a residence in the 7700 block of Sebrell Court when the four males approached them. Two suspects produced handguns, grabbed the victims and rummaged through their pockets while the other two stood nearby. They took cash and personal property from the victims and fled.
Wendell Roberts, of 28th King Street, Miles Anthoni Guillet, of 201 South Reynolds Street #2419, and Walter Griffin, of 7206 Tavenner Lane, all in Alexandria, were each charged with possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, two counts of abduction and two counts of robbery. Petitions will be obtained for the juvenile. Neither victim required medical attention.
