Former County Employee Arrested for Fraud

Fair Oaks Police District – Police detectives arrested a former employee of the Fairfax County Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) for allegedly using a client’s personal information to fraudulently rent an apartment in Centreville.

The DHCD started investigating the case in March 2009. In mid-May, they turned it over to the Fairfax County Police Financial Crimes Section and detectives obtained a criminal warrant for Leslie Y. Jones, 40, of 14109 Betsy Ross Lane in Centreville. She turned herself into police on Wednesday, May 26 and was charged with felony identity theft with the intent to defraud.
