Police Investigate Apparent Double
Homicide in Lorton
West Springfield Police District – Police located the bodies of a mother and her teen-age daughter after conducting a welfare check at an apartment in the 9200 block of Cardinal Forest Lane in Lorton around 8:30 a.m. Monday, June 14. Police received information from personnel at Dewitt Army Hospital on Fort Belvoir that a patient may have been involved in an incident at the Lorton address.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the incident appears to be domestic in nature and that the suspect and victims were acquainted with each other. Police are in close communication with the suspect and have indicated that there is no public safety threat to the community.
The cause and manner of death will be determined by autopsies which will be conducted by the Office of the Medical Examiner.
