Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Reston

Reston Police District – Police responded to the report of a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Reston Parkway near Glade Drive on Thursday, July 1 shortly after 9 p.m.

Crash Reconstruction detectives determined that a 17-year-old male was attempting to cross the northbound lanes of Reston Parkway from east to west, not in a crosswalk. He ran into the path of a 1987 Toyota pickup truck driven by a 50-year-old Reston man, traveling northbound on Reston Parkway in the left lane.

Jose Antonio Villatoro of 12305 Scotch Bonnet Court in Herndon was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital. He died at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 3.

Neither speed nor alcohol were factors contributing to this crash.
