ExtravaCATza! 2010 Underway
Fairfax County Animal Shelter Opens Four Sundays in
July
The month-long adoption celebration, ExtravaCATza!, is in full swing at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter. As part of the event, the first 100 cats adopted from the shelter during the month of July will receive a free spay or neuter. The Fairfax County Animal Shelter will also open for three special Sunday adoptions from 12 – 4 p.m. on Sundays, July 11, July 18 and July 25.
Families interested in adopting a cat or kitten are encouraged to drop by the shelter throughout the month to meet the wonderful animals that are available and looking for a loving new home.
As part of the ExtravaCATza!, the shelter is also partnering with area animal rescue organizations who will bring their cats and kittens available for adoption to the shelter on Saturdays and Sundays in July. This Saturday, July 10, the shelter welcomes cats from the SPCA of Northern Virginia. On Sunday, July 11, Dewey Animals will feature kittens available for adoption at the shelter. Adoptions processes and fees vary by group.
The shelter will be open its normal adoption hours throughout the month: Tuesdays – Fridays, 12 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Fairfax County Animal Shelter is located at 4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax, VA 22030. For more information about the ExtravaCATza!, call 703-830-1100.
