Driver Dies in Crash at Home
McLean Police District – Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred around 4:25 p.m. on Monday, October 18 in the McLean area. David Marvil, 80, pulled up in front of his residence, located at 932 Woburn Court, to check the mail from his 1998 Jeep Wrangler.
For unknown reasons Marvil accelerated to the right side of the driveway. He continued into the front yard and hit a tree. Marvil was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Marvil was medevaced to Inova Fairfax Hospital with life-threatening injuries. On October 19, he succumbed to his injuries.
Crash Reconstruction detectives do not believe speed or alcohol are factors in the crash.
