Police Investigate Vandalism in Chantilly

Fair Oaks Police District – Officers were called to a report of property damage at the U.S. Marine Corp recruiting office, 13881 MetroTech Drive around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 26.

An employee contacted police after discovering two apparent bullet holes in a window of the office and one into an adjacent business when he arrived at work this morning. Officers do not believe that there was anyone in either of the businesses at the time of the shooting. They believe the incident occurred between 8:30 p.m. Monday, October 25 and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 26.

Earlier today, the Federal Bureau of Investigation announced that they had conclusively linked two recent shooting incidents; one at the Pentagon and the other at the U.S. Marine Corp Museum in Prince William County. They have added today's incident in Fairfax County to their investigation although there is no evidence to link it to the others at present. Fairfax County Police remind the community that the target in today’s shooting appears to have been unoccupied buildings.

             The investigation is ongoing.
