UPDATE: Police Arrest Murder Suspect
Franconia Police District – Police arrested a 15-year-old boy from the Rose Hill area of Alexandria and charged him with second degree murder on Tuesday, October 26. The suspect is accused of killing Wyatt Campbell, 18 of Rose Hill Drive, Alexandria on Thursday, October 14. The juvenile turned himself into police around 10:30 a.m. in Fairfax.
UPDATE: Victim Identified
The suspicious death is now being classified as an apparent homicide. The victim has been identified as Wyatt Campbell, 18, of 6119 Rose Hill Drive in Alexandria.
Suspicious Death in Rose Hill area
Franconia Police District - Police are investigating a suspicious death that occurred around 11 p.m. Thursday, October 14. An 18-year-old man sought medical treatment at the Inova Springfield Healthplex around 10:30 p.m. and died shortly after 11 p.m. The victim had apparently been involved in an altercation earlier in the evening that resulted in bodily trauma.
Detectives are currently investigating and attempting to determine the nature of the relationship between the victim and suspect(s). An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of the victim’s death.
