Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Hybla Valley
Mount Vernon Police District – On Friday, November 5, around 8:35 p.m., police responded to Richmond Highway near Buckman Road for a struck pedestrian. Officers discovered an adult man dead at the scene.
Investigation revealed that a 2005 Chrysler mini-van, driven by a 21 year-old female, was southbound on Richmond Highway in the right lane approaching Buckman Road. The victim ran across Richmond Highway in front of stopped traffic in the left turn lane and then into the path of the Chrysler. The victim was struck and landed in the right turn lane of southbound Richmond Highway and was then struck by a 2008 Ford pickup, driven by a 27 year-old female. The Chrysler stayed on scene. The Ford left the scene but was later located.
The victim has not been identified and is described as Hispanic with a thin build, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, in his mid 30’s to early 40’s, with black hair and mustache. He was wearing black pants, white t-shirt, and black dress shoes. The investigation continues.
