Police Investigate Murder in Burke Area
West Springfield District Station – Police responded to the Silas Burke Park, located at 5815 Parakeet Drive, on Sunday, December 19. Around 12:15 p.m., someone reported seeing a man lying in a field in the Silas Burke Park; when officers arrived, they located the body of Jahed Ahmad Babi, 19, of 5837 Parakeet Drive. He had trauma to the upper body.
Homicide detectives believe this was an isolated event. The Search and Rescue team responded to the area this morning to search for evidence. The victim’s cause and manner of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
