Safety is NO Accident
Learn about Older Driver Safety Issues on April 8
Mount Vernon Police District – Fairfax County police officers will help older adults determine how the “fit” of a car affects driving ability and how drivers can adapt their car to their changing needs at a CarFit presentation on Friday, April 8. Along with a demonstration from Traffic Safety Officer Allie Eggers, participants are invited to make an appointment to have a personalized CarFit analysis inside their personal vehicles. The session begins at 10:30 a.m. and will be held at the Hollin Hall Senior Center, 1500 Shenandoah Road, Alexandria. Appointments begin at 11:05 and will run through 2:30 p.m.
Attendees will learn:
Proper mirror adjustments to minimize blind spots
Correct foot positioning on the gas and brake pedals to decrease fatigue
Seat belt and headrest adjustments
Safe steering wheel adjustments
