Crime Solvers Seeks Robbery Suspect
Fairfax County Crime Solvers is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the man believed to be responsible for two commercial robberies. The first robbery occurred on Thursday, January 26 around 6:30 a.m. at the Mobil gas station, located at 8156 Richmond Highway. A man entered the business and demanded money from the employee, standing behind the counter. The victim complied and the suspect fled on foot.
The second robbery occurred at the same gas station around 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, January 28. During that robbery, a man entered the business and swung a hammer at the employee. He threatened the employee and demanded money. The victim complied and the suspect fled on foot.
Detectives believe the same suspect tried to enter the business again on Wednesday, February 1 around 6:45 a.m. On that date the suspect displayed a knife and attempted to open the door; he was not successful because the doors were still locked.
Detectives have obtained surveillance video and believe the same suspect is responsible for both robberies and the third incident. They are hopeful someone will recognize the suspect and contact Crime Solvers.
The suspect is described as black, in his 30s to 40s. He is about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 180 to 200 pounds. He has a light complexion and may have a mustache.
