Apparent Homicide/Suicide in the Sleepy Hollow Area

            Mason Police District – Police are investigating an apparent homicide/suicide that occurred in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 27. Officers were dispatched to a home in the 3800 block of Forest Grove Drive around 1:14 a.m. They located the bodies of a 40-year-old man and a 13-year-old girl inside a sport utility vehicle, parked in the driveway.

            Detectives have determined the victims, John Jackson and Alexis Jackson, of 5909 Summers Lane in Falls Church, are father and daughter. The deceased were found in the vehicle by a family member shortly after 1 a.m. It appears the deaths occurred between midnight and 1 a.m. This investigation is ongoing. The medical examiner will determine cause and manner of death.

            John Jackson was a former sergeant with the Fairfax County Police Department. He left the department in June 2010 after serving 16 years.
