Reported Bomb Threat at County School
West Springfield District Station – Police were called to Annandale High School, located at 4700 Medford Drive, around 4:35 a.m. on Friday, March 30, for a reported bomb threat. Two calls were received that reported a bomb at the school.
Officers began an exterior search of the school grounds and school officials requested the assistance of the police department’s Explosive Ordnance Device (EOD) unit. Multiple police assets responded to the scene and located a suspicious backpack outside the school near a door. EOD officers examined the backpack and determined it was not a threat.
During the investigation, students and staff were not allowed inside the school. Once it was determined there was no threat, students and staff were allowed to enter.
Further investigation led detectives to Marco Antonio Verduo Toledo, 19, of 5451 Tilalary Court in Burke. He was charged with felony threats to bomb and criminal trespass.
