Recovered Remains Linked
The human remains found in July, 2010 and a second set of skeletal remains found in March, 2011 have been linked. Both cases continue to be investigated by homicide detectives. Both cases were classified as murders by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
On Wednesday, April 18, 2012 detectives were notified that forensic testing of DNA determined that both sets of remains belonged to brothers. Manuel Mireles-Garcia and Alberto de Jesus Mireles-Garcia were reported missing in Prince William County in May 2010.
