Mount Vernon Police District – A resident who was out walking around 2:45 p.m. Sunday, November 11 came upon the body of a man lying along a creek bank near the 7700 block of Audubon Meadow Way. The man was deceased and police have identified him as Mohammad Sharif Yazdani, who had walked away from his residence in the 3800 block of Havenwood Place on Wednesday, October 24.
Police do not believe there are any signs of foul play related to his death and the Office of the Medical Examiner has preliminarily determined that the cause and manner of death is accidental drowning.
Man Missing from Alexandria Area (Oct. 25)
Mount Vernon Police District – The Virginia State Police have issued a “Senior Alert” for a Fairfax County resident. On Wednesday, October 24, around 4:30 p.m., Mohammad Sharif Yazdani was last seen by relatives at his residence in the 3800 block of Havenwood Place.
Mr. Yazdani may appear to be confused and disoriented and speaks limited English. He frequently walks in the Alexandria area of Richmond Highway.
Mr. Yazdani is white, 64, 5 feet 6 inches, 160 pounds with brown to gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and blue “Crocs” style shoes.
