Franconia Police District – Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a vehicle involved in a hit and run crash that seriously injured a 16-year-old boy.
On Friday, November 30, shortly before 7 p.m., police responded to the report of a crash involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Telegraph Road and Broadmoor Street.
The preliminary investigation determined that a red minivan was traveling south on Telegraph Road and entered the left turn lane to turn left onto Broadmoor Street in front of Hayfield Secondary School. The boy was in the crosswalk at that intersection. Witnesses say that the minivan struck the child and never stopped. The minivan left the scene and continued onto Broadmoor Street. The vehicle may have sustained damage to the front end.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with what are believed to be serious, but non life-threatening injuries.
