Man Charged in Murder from July

Sully Police District – On Tuesday, December 4, William Santiago, 29, of Manassas Park, Virginia, was charged with unlawful wounding in the alleged killing of 42-year-old Amadeo Guerra-Giron.

On April 19, around 8:25 p.m., police were summoned to the 3000 block of Virginia Dare Court for a report of an assault. Officers located the injured victim in nearby woods, who was transported to a local hospital still alive. Investigation identified Santiago as the suspect, who is an acquaintance of the victim.

Sometime in May, the victim was transferred under medical care to his home country of Guatemala. On July 23, he died from his injuries.  Follow up investigation with officials in Guatemala and consultation with the Fairfax County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office led to yesterday’s charge.
