Man Robbed, Weapon Discharged

            Mount Vernon Police District – A 29-year-old man was walking in the 8400 block of Blankenship Street on Saturday, September 21 at about 12:15 a.m. A group of men approached and one displayed a handgun. The suspects pushed the man to the ground and demanded his property. They fled with a cell phone and wallet. One of the suspects allegedly fired his handgun at the victim. The victim was not struck but did receive minor injuries from being pushed to the ground.

            One suspect was described as black, 18 to 20 years old. He had dread locks down to his neck. He was wearing all black clothing. Another suspect, also black, was wearing a white sweater and black pants. There is no information on the other suspects.
