UPDATE: Abductor Arrested; Child Returned
On Monday, November 20 at 2:45 p.m., 26-year-old Vernice Simmons and one-year-old Zian Armani Holeman were spotted walking down the street in the 2400 block of Buckman Road. Simmons was arrested and the baby was reunited with his mother. The child was not injured.
Simmons was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where she was charged with abduction and served with an outstanding warrant for failure to appear.
A One-year-old Abducted
Fairfax County Police are investigating the abduction of a one-year-old boy from the 3500 block of Buckman Road in the Buckman Road Apartment’s area of Fairfax County. A Media Alert has been issued for the child, Zian Armani Holeman. He was last seen on Sunday, November 19 around 8 p.m. in the company of 26-year-old Vernice Simmons in the Buckman Road area. A warrant charging Simmons with abduction has been issued.
The child is described as a black male, 1 foot 6 inches tall weighing about 21 pounds. He was wearing a black and blue hat, blue jean overalls, black and red hooded sweat shirt, white undershirt and black Timberland boots.
Simmons is described as a 26-year-old black female, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing approximately 210 pounds. She was last wearing a royal-blue hooded sweat shirt, dark jeans, and white Reebok classic sneakers.
