Four Teens Charged with Gang Participation

and Recruitment

School administrators and the Police School Resource Officers initiated an investigation of alleged gang activities on campus at South County Secondary School at 8501 Silverbrook Road. The month-long investigation conducted by detectives with the Fairfax County Gang Unit revealed that the students were recruiting and initiating other students into a new gang they were trying to create. On Thursday, May 24, four students were arrested.

Detectives arrested four Lorton-area juveniles, ages 17, 15, and two 14-year-olds. The students were each charged with gang participation and recruitment. The 15 and 14 year olds were also charged with hazing. The 17 year old was also charged with destruction of property.
