July ExtravaCATza! Features Felines for Adoption
at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter;
Shelter Opens Four Sundays in July for Special Adoption Event
The Fairfax County Animal Shelter’s ExtravaCATza is back for the month of July. The fanCATstic cat and kitten adoption event will spotlight Fairfax County’s fabulous felines at the shelter located at 4500 West Ox Road in Fairfax.
Families interested in adopting a cat or kitten are encouraged to drop by the shelter throughout the month to meet the wonderful animals that are available and looking for a loving new home. The first 100 cats adopted in the month of July will receive a free spay or neuter, a potential savings of between $70 and $100.
As part of the ExtravaCATza!, the shelter is partnering with DC Metro No More Homeless Pets, a local non-profit animal welfare organization, to bring cats and kittens from several private animal rescue organizations to the shelter on Sundays (July 8, 15, 22 and 29). Rescue groups will appear at the shelter each Sunday with additional cats and kittens available for adoption. Adoption processes and fees vary by group.
The shelter will also be open its normal adoption hours throughout the month: Tuesdays – Fridays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The special Sunday adoption hours will be from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. on July 8, 15, 22 and 29.
