UPDATE – Man Arrested

             Fairfax County Police have made an arrest in the assault case in the 6800 block of Moon Rock Court. Marlon Berrioz, 27, of no fixed address, was arrested on Tuesday, November 6 at police headquarters after being questioned by detectives. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with burglary with the intent to commit rape, abduction with intent to defile, rape and animate object sexual penetration.

Woman Assaulted by Intruder

            Police responded to the 6800 block of Moon Rock Court in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County around 4 a.m., on Saturday, November 3 for a report of a sexual assault. A 59-year-old woman was confronted in her home by an intruder, armed with a knife, between 2:30 a.m. and 3 a.m. A struggle began and the man sexually assaulted the victim. She was able to escape and run to a neighbor’s house for help. The suspect fled and the victim was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. An investigation revealed the man entered through an unlocked, rear window.

            The suspect was described as Hispanic, in his 20s. He was about 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall with a lean, muscular build. He wore a dark brown leather jacket and had short, dark hair.
