Police Investigate Homicide in the Springfield Area

            Police are investigating the early morning shooting of a 19-year-old Woodbridge man. Shortly after 2 a.m. on Sunday, December 2, the victim, Christian Argueta, and an acquaintance left the Cerro Grande restaurant, located in the 6500 block of Springfield Mall. They were confronted by two Hispanic males in the parking lot. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and shot Argueta in the upper body. The second victim ran for help; he was not injured. The suspects fled the area.

            Arriving officers located the victim in the parking lot outside the restaurant. This investigation is ongoing. Detectives would like to speak with anyone who may have information on the shooting or who may have been in the parking lot and seen the shooting take place.
