Armed Robbery Attempt in Franconia

 

            A 57-year-old Franconia-area woman was the victim of an attempted armed robbery on December 15 at 4:20 a.m. She had returned home from work and was walking to her residence in the 6100 block of The Parkway when she was approached by a suspect who pointed a handgun at her. He motioned for her to surrender her purse and a brief struggle ensued. The victim screamed and the suspect fled from the area. There were no injuries. 

            He was described as dark skinned, about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighed approximately 160 pounds.  The suspect wore a black and white checkered shirt, blue jeans and a ski mask. He was armed with a black handgun.
