Police Investigate Homicide ;
Murder Suspect Wanted

 

            Fairfax County Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Jose Luis Cruz, 53, of 6508 Pinecrest Court, in Annandale. A warrant has been issued charging Cruz with the murder of his estranged wife, 57-year-old, Matilde A. Cruz of the Alexandria-area. Jose Cruz is 5 feet 5 inches tall, approximately 190 pounds. He has short, black hair and a scar on his right forearm.

Police were called to the Pinecrest Court address where Matilde Cruz was found dead in her car, in the rear of the home shortly after 3 p.m. on Thursday, December 20.  Although the official cause of death will be determined by an autopsy, it appears that she suffered from stab wounds to her upper body.

            Homicide detectives continue the investigation. Crime scene technicians are still on the scene on Pinecrest Court.
