St. Patrick’s Day Checkpoint – Results
The officers of the Franconia District Police Station with support from Auxiliary Officers conducted their sobriety checkpoint on St. Patrick’s Day from 10 p.m. Thursday until 1 a.m. Friday on southbound Richmond Highway at Cherwek Drive. Approximately 718 vehicles came through the checkpoint. One driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated, one for a narcotics violation and three were issued Virginia Uniformed Summons for traffic violations.

Keep luck on your side – Don’t Drink and Drive. The officers of the Franconia Police District will hold a sobriety checkpoint on St. Patrick’s Day, Thursday, March 17. The location will not be announced but officers will be checking drivers who pass through to ensure they are not intoxicated.
