Fairfax County Police Department New Assistant Commander at Franconia Station
First Lieutenant William “Jake” Jacoby assumed his role as Assistant Commander of the Franconia Station on January 28, 2012. Lt. Jacoby has been with the department for over 23 years and brings a wide variety of expertise from his previous assignments. After starting his career in patrol and serving on the Bike Team at the Reston District, Lt. Jacoby, was promoted to Sergeant and lead his squad at the Fair Oaks District Station. Later, he moved on to working in the Major Crimes Division. Lt. Jacoby was an asset working in some particularly sensitive cases, such as the 9-11 Pentagon investigation, and as a member of the 2002 Beltway Sniper Task Force. He also brings the experiences of his previous assignment, the Criminal Intelligence Division. Lt. Jacoby states, “I am very excited to be working at the Franconia Station and look forward to working with and getting to know the men and women assigned here.”
