Fairfax County Police Department Franconia Loses a Friend
Police Officer First Class Edward Bowling passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. PFC Bowling was an officer with the Fairfax County Police Department for 14 years: all of which were spent patrolling the streets in the Franconia Police District. Bowling graduated first in his class from the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy in 1998. Prior to his service with the police department, PFC Bowling served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. He is survived by his wife and 4 year old son. If you knew PFC Bowling, you know that he worked hard, and always treated people fairly and with respect. Those who worked with him would tell you that he was a dedicated worker, who never complained. PFC Bowling was a friend to all who had the pleasure of working with him. He will be missed. PFC Bowling will be laid to rest at Marine Corps Base Quantico on Friday, February 10, 2012.
