Fairfax County Police Department Franconia Officers Targeting Specific Offenses
Take out your ear buds, stop texting and please do not eat a bowl of cereal or pluck your eyebrows on your way to work! We want everyone to be safe on the roadways and a new traffic initiative is starting this weekend. April 28 through May 6, officers will be implementing a Distracted Driver Safety Campaign. Goals of these efforts are to reduce motor vehicle crashes involving inattentive drivers and increase driver safety and awareness at various locations within the Franconia District. Specifically, they will be alert to: drivers not paying full time and attention to the roadway, texting or using other electronics while driving, and drivers following other vehicles too closely. If you would like to contact our Traffic Enforcement Officer, MPO Thompson, directly to report an area experiencing repeated violations, you may email him directly at FranconiaStationCPO@fairfaxcounty.gov.
