Fairfax County Police Department Franconia Officers Give Back
During the month of July, a couple of officers from the Franconia District will be taking some leave. They are not going to Disney or Hawaii, or taking their kids to the beach. This year they are using their time off to give back to humanity. PFC Mario Colorado of the Midnight B shift and PFC Iva Robertson, School Resource Officer at Lee High School are taking part in a mission trip to Uganda through their local church. While there, they will be giving food, medical and school supplies to a village they adopted. The team, consisting of about 20 members, is also completing the construction of a church, water wells, and other building projects. The officers have had to raise funds in order to go on the mission. PFC Colorado stated, “I was overwhelmed by the support I got from officers around the county who contributed to my sponsorship, some of whom I have never even met!” We wish them well on their journey and anxiously await their safe return. ### To request this information in an alternate format, call the Franconia District Station at 703.922.0889.
