Robbery Suspect Arrested After Victimizing Citizen

Officers arrested Antonio Garcia Saturday night in Springfield, after being dispatched to a robbery that had just occurred.  Witnesses in the area observed a visually impaired person walking home with the use of a walking stick.  They then saw Garcia approach on a bicycle, knock the stick from the victim’s hand, and rip a bag from her person by force.

The witnesses provided a description of the suspect, who was apprehended nearby.  Antonia Garcia of 6841 Ben Franklin Road in Springfield, Virginia, was arrested and charged with robbery.

The victim in this case was not seriously injured.  Franconia officers would like to thank the good Samaritans who assisted the victim and made the call, providing the information that led to Garcia’s arrest.
